Jeff joined the insurance industry in 1984. After working for St. Paul Fire & Marine Insurance Company as a commercial medical-professional liability underwriter, he joined MGIS in 1989. Since early 2005, Jeff has served as President of The MGIS Companies, Inc. In this role, he has established a clear corporate vision and strategy for MGIS. This includes significant product and service expansion for MGIS’ physician group customers. His objective is to ensure that MGIS continues to lead the physician-insurance market by delivering what its customers, partners, and brokers expect.
Jeff holds a Bachelors Degree in Business from Brigham Young University and also holds the following industry designations:
Dan joined MGIS in 1987 and has been responsible for the design, development, and implementation of proprietary systems to effectively manage MGIS' unique role within the group benefits industry. His system development efforts within the industry date back to the late 70's. Now, working closely with an experienced management team, Dan relies on his background to further the company's overall interests within the physician community. Dan holds degrees in Business, Math/Statistics & Electrical Engineering.
Todd has over 20 years of combined experience in finance, accounting, and insurance. With both a CPA license and MBA degree, he began his career with the international public accounting firm of Ernst and Young working with premier clients of the firm. Prior to joining MGIS, Todd held various CFO and COO roles, most recently with a large professional employer and insurance administration organization. His experience includes the management and administration of a spectrum of insurance programs and employee benefit plans for large and small organizations. Todd manages MGIS’ group benefits operations which includes the specialized physician group disability and life insurance business. He also oversees all finance and accounting operations of The MGIS Companies, Inc. and affiliates. Todd attended the University of Utah from which he graduated summa cum laude. He joined MGIS in 2001.
Ray joined The MGIS Companies in 2005. Previously, Ray worked for a large multi-national law firm, served as General Counsel for a medical bill review/utilization review company, and served as Assistant General Counsel for all of Wal-Mart's benefit plans. Ray supports The MGIS Companies in a variety of areas, including compliance and legal matters. Graduating cum laude, Ray holds a J.D. degree from Brigham Young University and is an active member of the California Bar. He also holds a number of insurance licenses throughout the country.
Joe joined the MGIS senior management team early 2010 as Vice President of Sales and Marketing. He is a 27 year veteran of the business with a breadth of experience in the employee benefits field. Joe has built and developed his successful career while at firms such as UNUM, CNA and Aetna. At these firms, Joe held roles in sales, sales management and regional leadership. He is a graduate of the University of South Florida in the study of Management. Joe leads our business development initiatives throughout the organization which include product offerings such as Life, Disability and Medical Professional Liability.
Elke Kirsten-Brauer serves as Executive Vice President/Chief Underwriting Officer for MGIS Underwriting Managers, Inc. managing its underwriting and operational teams. Elke joined MGIS in 2003. She began her carrier with Hannover Re and The Cologne Re Group (now part of General Re Corporation, a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Inc.) Elke is a seasoned and proven leader in insurance/reinsurance and program business with extensive experience in the complex professional liability and medical malpractice market. She has served in leadership positions for carriers like MMI Companies and Health Providers Insurance Company (both part of St. Paul/Travelers), reinsurers, MGUs and risk management service providers. Elke holds a business degree from the University of Cologne, Germany - Dipl.-Kfm. specialized in banking, finance and insurance. She is a member of the Professional Liability Underwriting Society (PLUS) and serves on the PLUS Southwest Chapter Steering Committee.
