This month, MGIS introduces two new insurance brands for physicians and dentists: IncomeProtect and PhysicianProtect.
For over 40 years, MGIS has innovated insurance products specifically for physicians in protecting their income from disability, and more recently, from law suits.
Through four decades of wide-spread change in the healthcare industry, MGIS has remained at the forefront of understanding the unique threats to doctors’ livelihoods, and responded with solutions for providing stability and peace of mind in high-value insurance solutions. Now, with accelerating changes putting even more pressure on doctors’ finances, the need for specialized protection is greater than ever.
This new brand name embodies the specialized coverage, elite service and expert guidance doctors are expecting in order to protect their incomes from possible disability impacts. IncomeProtect identifies an IDI* supplement approach to providing highly specialized group disability benefits similar to those doctors enjoy in their individual policies. Income is further protected through optional benefits tailored specifically to doctors, and through exclusion of provisions typically found in standard disability contracts that can hurt doctors at claim time. Elite service from experienced resources focused exclusively on physician needs is an important value also included in the DNA of the IncomeProtect brand.
IncomeProtect is delivered through a partnership between MGIS, the program manager, and Sun Life Financial, whose member companies provide this insurance, and back it with high ratings for financial strength.1
The new PhysicianProtect brand represents the coverage and commitment core values of the companies behind the name. Besides providing strong, expert defense in the face of a malpractice suit, the PhysicianProtect solution provides provisions that directly address fundamental, often overlooked specialized physician needs. High responsiveness and flexibility coupled with deep financial strength help ensure physicians are protected in all aspects of the coverage experience. MGIS’s exclusive commitment to selling through brokers ensures that physicians receive the highest quality, unbiased guidance in making malpractice coverage decisions.
PhysicianProtect is provided through a partnership between MGIS, the program manager, and Nationwide®, one of the largest and strongest insurance companies in the world, with an A.M. Best Rating of A+ (Superior), FSC XV.
